Lately I have been contemplating on whether or not we really need the family that we were born into or whether the family we choose can be considered family. The family that I was born into seems to be nothing but drama and aggrivation (on both sides). I guess we cant help the fact that we are born into these so called families where we are connected by these people through blood lines and ties. It seems to me that family is what you make of it. Just because you were born into a family doesnt necessairly make them true family. The people that I chose to keep around because I know that they have my best interest at heart are my real family. The only thing that I have encountered in my family consists of petty arguments, egotistical attitudes, jealous natures, envious of others, judgemental of everyone, caddy and selfish. Family can be the worst enemy of all because they already assume that you will keep taking their garbage based on the fact that they are family. Its not enough that we have to deal with drama and competition from people that we dont know and to have to deal with that bull from your own family is rediculous. Recently my family took a trip this Summer to North Carolina. It was the WORST trip that I have ever taken in my life. I swear I will never do it again. The whole trip was nothing but drama and unconmfortable situations. Half of the people that went were adults and acted more like children than anything. I think that I have witnessed way to much stuff with regards to my family and I think I have had enough!!!! I know the saying is "blood is thicker than water" but in certain cases water is more valuable than blood. I really do wish everyone well in my family but I personally dont feel ready to deal with the bull that I have dealt with for a long time anymore. I shouldn't have to feel like have to walk on egg shells because someone is judging me and I have to watch what I say. The only people that I am able to count on are the people I chose to be my family. Love you guys Shaka, Pauline, Ivy, Ketsia, my boyfriend, Gus, Dyna, Andrea, and Ashley (my friends). The only blood family that I can count on is my cousin Ebony and my younger brother and Mother. Sometimes all you need is a fistfull of people and thats more than anyone can ask for. If you have atleast five people that you can say are really there fore you then consider yourself lucky because most are phoney. Till next time....CHOW!!!
